About Forward Tab

Forward Tab is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that puts community-funded, no-questions-asked meal boards in independent local restaurants.

Neighbors give through a QR code on a restaurant table or on our website. Companies sponsor the boards of restaurants in their area, and foundations make grants. We hold the money and turn it into prepaid meal tickets, printed and pinned on a Community Board inside each partner restaurant.

Anyone can take a ticket to the counter and is served like any other customer. Nobody asks for ID or proof of need. When the cashier scans the ticket, Forward Tab pays the restaurant for the meal.
